I am a happily married father of a baby girl. She is only a few months old and she is my pride and joy, the apple of my eye. For some reason, I call it a genetic curse; the males in my family tend to suffer from heart disease. My grandfather, father, uncles, brothers and I all experience heart problems. It is because of this that I did not want to have a son. Not that I do not adore male children but I did not want to bring a child into this world knowing that one day he would also experience this problem that has caused to much pain and distress to my family. As such, when my wife and I decided to try to have our first child I was adamant that we have a baby girl. The females in my family have absolutely no health issues and I just wanted to have a daughter as a precaution.

My wife and I were not aware of the methods that can be used to select the sex of our child so we spoke to her gynecologist. WE were told of the MicroSort procedure which was said to be one of the most effective methods of sex selection in children. I must admit that this method was a bit costly seeing that we had just been married but we both felt that it was worthwhile. The procedure was relatively short and sure enough it was successful. We are the parents of a beautiful and healthy baby girl and my mind is now at ease knowing that she would not suffer from the same condition that has been passed down through generation of males.
